The Roberts Company (TRC), one of the Southeast’s leading full-service industrial construction and fabrication firms, is expanding its footprint in Pitt County with the construction of a new manufacturing facility in Farmville.
Founded in 1948 and headquartered in Winterville, TRC has built a national reputation for delivering industrial construction, fabrication, and maintenance services to clients in the pharmaceutical, life sciences, manufacturing, power generation, and industrial sectors. The company’s expansion into Farmville marks its second manufacturing facility in Pitt County and underscores its long-term commitment to the community where it has operated for decades.
The company is constructing a new 35,000-square-foot manufacturing facility at the Farmville Industrial Park on West Marlboro Road. Once operational, the facility will employ approximately 30 to 50 skilled workers and support the growing demand for the company's fabrication services.

According to The Roberts Company Chairman Emeritus Bobby Foister, the expansion is a direct result of the company's continued growth and the need for additional manufacturing capacity. The company's existing Winterville facility has experienced significant growth in recent years and no longer has sufficient capacity to accommodate current and future workload requirements.
"The Roberts Company has been an important part of Pitt County's business community for generations, and this expansion demonstrates the continued strength of both the company and our local economy," said Josh Lewis, president and CEO of Invest Greenville. "We're proud to see a homegrown company invest in its future right here in Pitt County, creating new employment opportunities and expanding its manufacturing capabilities. This project reflects the advantages that businesses find in our community, including a skilled workforce, strategic location, and strong support for industry."
After evaluating multiple options, The Roberts Company selected the 23.5-acre site within the Farmville Industrial Park because of its strategic location, access to Interstate 587, and availability of a skilled workforce. The project further strengthens Pitt County’s position as a growing hub for advanced manufacturing and industrial production.
The Town of Farmville welcomed the announcement and highlighted the economic opportunities the project will bring to the area.
“The Town of Farmville is delighted to have a company with such a strong history and reputation choose to expand its operations here,” said Farmville Town Manager Justin Oakes. “The Roberts Company’s decision to invest in Farmville while maintaining its Pitt County roots demonstrates confidence in our community and will create tremendous economic opportunities for our residents. We look forward to building on an already strong partnership for many years to come.”
Construction is currently underway, with the facility expected to be completed later in 2026.
